Chef Fortunato Mazzone
Fortunato is the owner of Restaurant sensation Forti Grill and Bar situated on the roof of the Sun Time Square Casino, the largest Casino in the Southern Hemisphere. Forti Grill and Bar is the flagship restaurant of the entire development and offers an amazing space and Terrace filled with a state of the art wine cellar, private rooms and its own delicatessen and Humidor. Forti was the owner of multi award winning Ristorante Ritrovo in Pretoria with his father, the well known chef and Italian food pioneer in South Africa Giovanni Mazzone. He sold Ritrovo in March 2017. Fortunato owns and opened the acclaimed fine dining restaurant and late night venue PRIVA Gastrolounge in 2014.
Fortunato is also in the Wine and Olive oil business through Nick and Fortis wines and his association with Saronsberg in Tulbagh
His passions in life apart from Gastronomy are the Arts and Opera. Fortunato appears regularly on television and radio and is a sought after public demonstrator, competition judge, food writer and recipe contributor. Fortunato is a Commandeur de Bordeaux, Chevalier of the Coteaux du Champagne, was the youngest member of the Academy of Chefs of the South African Chef Association when inducted, Vice-Echanson of The Ordre Mondial and an officer of the Chaine des Rotisseurs gastronomic organization. Ritrovo was South Africa’s most award winning restaurant with over 70 local and international food awards and all his restaurants feature in the Amex Platinum top 100.

Five years of work and travel as a Waiter and Sommelier on board the Queen Elizabeth 2 and Queen Mary 2, (serving the Queens’ table on her final visit to the QE2).

Marko and Angie met on Board the QE2, and in their 7 years of traveling and working together they found their passion in wine, food and excellent service. Their combined love for the food, wine and spirit world grew with each new country and their dream was to bring all their knowledge back to South Africa and create an experience for the South African diners.
